Q: I heard that enzymes work well when combined with herbs for inflammation. I have bad arthritis and I am already taking Recovery®. What do you recommend?
Dr. Henry Cheng: Recovery® provides the building blocks for regeneration and has only weak anti-inflammatory effect. On the other hand, a good enzyme and herbs have much more direct anti-inflammatory effects. A new preparation called CURAMIN® (Terry Naturally) has a special BCM-95 Curcumin that is 10 times stronger than the basic tumeric extract. This basic enzyme is reinforced by Nattokinase which facilitates circulation. Curamin also contains Boswellia which is an anti-inflammatory herb. It also contains DL- phenylalanine that is an amino acid that can elevate the pain threshold.
