Q: It’s hard to keep track of which medications I’ve used and which vaccinations I’ve had over the years. Is there any easy way to keep track of all of this?
A: If you’re a resident of B.C., getting access to your “Health Gateway” is the easiest way to access many of your old health records. You can access this on your desktop or your phone. Once you’ve signed up, you will have access to your medication history, immunization history, health visits (e.g., to your doctors or for other procedures), and hospital visits. More recently, lab results and imaging reports have been added to this portal. Registering takes some time as the website has to confirm your identity, but it’ll save you digging through your own old records or trying to get in touch with previous doctors’ offices to track down health-related information. Just make sure to have your BC Services Card handy and head to https://www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca/ to get started.
