Q: I am trying to support my immune system naturally so that I can minimize taking conventional antihistamines. I already use quercetin and although it has improved my allergy symptoms, they sometimes still flare up! Is there anything else I can try?
A: Regular use of supplements containing quercetin is important to reduce the release of histamine from mast cells when we encounter an allergy-triggering antigen. However, if you encounter enough of an antigen to overwhelm your system, you can always try ALLERGY-TRYP from Innovite. Derived from organic quail eggs, Allergy-Tryp blocks the “allergy cascade” one step earlier than quercetin and interferes with the binding of the antigen to our immune cells. It can work as quickly as 15 minutes and is indicated for occasional use.
