Lysine for Cold Sores

Q: I get cold sores at least five or six times every winter. Is there anything I can do to prevent them?
A: Doing what you can to maintain good general health (e.g., eating a balanced diet, getting adequate rest, staying hydrated, managing stress) is the first step in reducing the “illnesses” related to the cold weather such as cold sores. If you feel you could use some extra help, consider supplementing with oral L-LYSINE, which has been shown to reduce the occurrence and severity of cold sores. For those who prefer a topical treatment, SUPER LYSINE PLUS + , which contains lysine, zinc oxide and other natural ingredients has been shown to reduce the severity and duration of symptoms. Keep in mind this latter product must be applied every 2 hours to be effective!
